Gorilla Thoughts in Art Pen by ronmonroe Gorilla Thoughts in Art Pen by ronmonroe
This is a drawing of a Gorilla at the Memphis Zoo. I took the photos, but I'm not a very good photographer so I had to combine two photos. [link], [link]
The references aren't that great and I couldn't really see the fur, so I had to pull some magic out of my ass! (I hope that was magic!)

Tools: 0.1, 0., art pens and a brush pen

I just updated this drawing. I thickened up his arm and made the wrist area a little darker. I think I had the original "over gimped". I am much happier with this version. I hope everybody agrees!

Very nice work. It's tough not to overwork a drawing and you don't.

This one is my favourite of all your drawings. I find it very strange that your pen drawings are better than your pencil drawings, isn't it supposed to be harder without being able to shade or erase?

Thanks. I agree. I think it's because I use a little more patience when I use pen, because I know I can't make mistakes. Also, I just really like the way an art pen looks.

I think you pulled quite a chunk of magic out of your ass, this is amazing!

Did you stipple the black background too? (I can only imagine the hand cramps if you did)

Thanks! No I don't have that much patience. I used a brush pen on the back ground. I only stippled the face and part of the hand.
