Lee Jeffries Revisited by ronmonroe Lee Jeffries Revisited by ronmonroe
This is the second time I used a Lee Jeffries photo as a reference to draw. He is probably one of my favorite photographers.

Here is my other Lee Jeffries drawing:

And here is a link to some more of his photos: [link]
You should really check him out.

Tools: 97% ballpoint pen. 2% art pen (I couldn't quite get the darkness I wanted with just ballpoint) and 1% white gel pen (for those accidental little ink blobs I still get with ballpoints) on smooth bristol.

Here are a few wips:

This is a BEAUTIFUL drawing. its so realistic and emotional. it looks like you can see into his soul through his eyes. he looks like he could be homeless by his fly away hair and the bags under his eyes. if that's the impression you were trying to give, its right on the money. the eyebrows are a bit lop sided, but it gives it character. I love the dark tones you used and how much definition it has. im still a little iffy one his gender, but that happens a lot with kids. especially in drawings where they look a little messy.

Hello! This is incredibly hard to do with pencils, and I think it looks great. You did an amazing job giving the image three dimensions, and it looks as if it has all the proper shadows to me. The eyebrows are very striking too, they were exceptionally done well. Her eyes really bring you into the piece, and I love the depth and clarity you gave her eyes. Photos like this have a bigger impact when done in pencil in my opinion, as the medium visually has that black and white contrast, drawing viewers in better. My only critique would be maybe her neck and shirt? It is like her head is perfection, and the neck and shirt are very basic. You may have just been tired, idk, but it still is an AMAZING piece.

You have a formidable drawing technique. I could look at this picture for as many hours as it probably took you to draw it!
